This summer's Rainbow of Ribbons display in University Parks has raised £14,127 for Sobell House Hospice, funding over 570 hours of specialist nursing care.
Sobell House Hospice Charity's annual Rainbow of Ribbons display has once again brought the local community together in University Parks. This beautiful installation is a heartfelt tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us, with each ribbon dedicated in memory of someone special.
The display hangs from the large Oak tree between the North Lodge and the Ginkgo Gates each year from the beginning of July until the end of August, creating a peaceful and reflective space for visitors to pause and remember.
Alongside raising awareness for the charity, every dedicated ribbon includes a donation to support its work. This year, 439 ribbons were dedicated and displayed raising £14,127 which will help fund around 574 hours of compassionate nursing care at Sobell House.
Since launching in 2022, and with the support of University Parks as host venue each summer, Rainbow of Ribbons has raised more than £80,000 for Sobell House so far.
Sophie Chantler, Individual Giving and Supporter Care ManagerA huge thank you to everyone at University Parks and Estates Services for helping to care for the tree each year and providing such a peaceful setting for remembrance. The display means so much to so many people, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make it possible.
